Elephant Hills Resort is a large 5 star hotel on the southern bank of the Zambezi, close to the Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders), which lies on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Elephant Hills Resort is located just four kilometres upstream of the spectacular waterfalls. The resort has a spectacular hilltop location close to the southern bank of the Zambezi River, ensuring guests a glorious panoramic view of the mist of the Falls and the mighty Zambezi from their balconies. Between the resort and the river, the immaculate fairways of the resort’s Gary Player designed golf course cuts swathes through the rugged African bush. Below the balconies, buck and warthog roam freely across the 18-hole Championship course.

Accommodation

The Elephant Hills Resort offers 276 luxury rooms, 11 executive suites, a deluxe suite and a presidential suite. All rooms are luxurious, with air-conditioning, mini-bars, satellite television, safes, and tea and coffee making stations.

Each room has a private balcony: rooms in the west wing have an impressive view of the Zambezi River, while guests in the east wing have views over the golf course to the Zambezi, glimmering in the distance. A selection of rooms offers a breath-taking view of the Smoke that Thunders. Indoor, manmade waterfalls and lush greenery bring the rumble of falls within the walls of the hotel.

The hotel is family friendly: many of the rooms have inter-connecting doors. Each room accommodates two guests. The resort is also disabled-friendly, with lifts on all floors and two rooms especially equipped for disabled guests.

Wildlife

Guests at Elephant Hills can view game such as impala, warthog, monkeys and baboons while they play a round of golf or amble around the grounds. The resort can arrange day and night game drives in the National Park, which is home to the Big Five, or a Lion Walk in the nearby reserve. If bird watching is your passion then the Victoria Falls area offers some amazing opportunities to view some rare and exquisite bird life. Over 600 species of birds can be found here. The area surrounding the Falls is a rainforest and is home to many different species of brightly coloured and unusual birds.

Standard and Deluxe rooms have roll out beds for children aged 0 to 6 years. Infants are accommodated free of charge, except where a meal is specifically ordered for them.

BY ROAD:

• Due to the lodge’s remote location, self-drive is not reccommended. We advise that you book transfers to the lodge.

• Elephant Hills is situated on the shores of the Zambezi River, roughly 3 km upstream from the Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls is the nearest town, and the Victoria Falls Airport is 27 km away.
