Accommodation

The entire front wall of each suite between the bedroom and the veranda is made of glass allowing light to flood in. Outdoor pavilion decks – ideal for dining and relaxing – are suspended above the river banks as if hanging from the trees. A beautiful marble and cast iron table is the furniture centrepiece for this concept – it is a traveller’s desk with smart tools, a private dining room table for entertaining or a bar to enjoy an evening gin & tonic in one.

Suites ideal for singles and couples travelling together. One inter-leading unit is available for groups travelling together.
Lewis Suites ideal for families with teenage children. The suites are right next to each other and within close proximity to the main lodge area.
Family Suites ideal for families with small children. The family suites include an en-suite master bedroom and an en-suite twin bedroom as well as a dining and lounge veranda area with a stone fireplace, and a private viewing deck with heated plunge pool.

Wildlife

The Sabi Sand region is one of the world’s most prolific wildlife areas. The region is home to the Big Five and famous for its big cat activity. Leopard sightings are common and there is a huge diversity of other mammals. Night game drives reveal seldom seen nocturnal creatures including hyena, black-backed jackal, porcupine, and honey badger.  There are also endangered species to be sighted here, including wild dog, black rhino, Ground hornbill, and ten bat species.

Sabi Sands is a great birding destination, with more than 300 bird species on its list. Notable species include the Bateleur eagle, Black-bellied bustard, Burchell’s coucal, Shelly’s francolin, Red-billed oxpecker, and Knob-billed duck. Other specialties include the Black-crowned night heron, Emerald cuckoo, Purple heron, and Verreaux’s eagle owl.
