Elephant Valley Lodge is a luxury safari camp located along the north western border of Botswana in the magnificent wilderness of the Kasane Forest Reserve. The Lodge is tucked away in the forests of the Lesoma Valley, just 20 kilometres from Kasane and the entrance to Chobe National Park. Its location is in close proximity to the Okavango Delta, the Victoria Falls, and the Chobe National Park, affording guests the opportunity to visit these spectacular attractions. The unique lodge location, overlooking a busy waterhole, provides guests with game viewing throughout the day and night.

Home to largest number of wild elephants in the world, the area provides a restful backdrop for this exclusive game viewing lodge. The Elephant Valley Lodge is protected from wildlife by a boundary fence around the camp perimeter, and complimentary transfers to the lodge from Victoria Falls, Kasane and Livingstone are provided for guests.

Accommodation

The Lodge boasts 20 comfortable, tastefully decorated ‘meru styled’ tents with wooden floors. Each tent is furnished with two three-quarter beds and has an en-suite bathroom. The tents are spaced throughout the grounds, with some overlooking the waterhole.

Wildlife

The area offers abundant and diverse wildlife, and is renowned for its huge herds of elephant. Also present are kudu, sable, puku, lechwe, buffalo, hyena, waterbuck, reedbuck, crocodiles, and hippo. The abundant game supports a healthy population of predators, including lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah.

The birding in this area is excellent, offering over 450 species, including the African Fish Eagle, red and yellow billed hornbills, Spotted Eagle Owls and Pel’s Fishing Owl.

• BY AIR:

• There are numerous ways in which the lodge can be reached, they include daily flights into Livingstone, Victoria Falls or Kasane.

• Transfers are available from both Livingstone and Victoria Falls and these are provided by numerous transfer companies.

• The transfer time is approximately 1 hour from either airport and will bring guests to either Kazungula crossing in the case of Livingstone or the Botswana – Zimbabwe border post in the case of Victoria Falls.

• At the Kazungula crossing (border between Zambia and Botswana) a short boat trip will ferry guests to the Botswana side where an Elephant Valley lodge game viewer will be waiting to meet guests.

Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent lodge within the Chobe National Park in Botswana. The Lodge is situated in the North Eastern corner of the park, 20 kilometers from the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, overlooking the great Chobe River and the Chobe floodplains. This incredible location enables guests to experience an amazing wildlife experience from the comfort of the lodge, and to observe elephants silhouetted by the sunset while sipping sundowners. The Moorish influenced elegant architecture, with its high arches and barrel-vault ceilings create a sense of tranquil grandeur. All rooms overlook the Chobe River, which supports the world’s densest population of Kalahari elephants along with large herds of buffalo and zebra. Accommodation

Chobe Game Lodge has a total of 47 rooms, all of which are river facing. The rooms are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, private terraces, and a complimentary mini bar. Four of the rooms are luxurious suites, each with their own infinity plunge pool and separate lounge area. The rooms are furnished with handcrafted Rhodesian teak, original African carvings and paintings, and hand-painted fabric canopies hung above the beds.

Wildlife

Chobe National Park offers abundant and diverse wildlife. It is home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. During the dry season these herds, as well as large herds of buffalo, congregate along the fertile flood plains of the Chobe River. Magnificent sightings of puku, sable, giraffe and roan antelope, as well as the rare aquatic Red Lechwe and the indigenous Chobe Bushbuck are frequent. The abundant game supports a healthy population of predators, including large resident populations of lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah.  The park is home to the Big Five, along with huge pods of hippo and crocodiles. Chobe is rich in birdlife, offering over 450 species, including Pel’s Fishing Owl and the distinctive strangely beaked African skimmer.

Directions

Chobe Game Lodge is situated in the Chobe National Park and access is via the park gate, approximately two hours road transfer from Victoria Falls or a three hour road and boat transfer from Livingstone.
