Sabi Sands game reserve, the “birthplace” of sustainable wilderness tourism and development in Sub-Saharan Africa, loved by by guests and staff alike as a place of wilderness, wildlife and adventure. Home to the extensive Mpumalanga cross-section of wildlife, including the Big Five and various endangered species, the park also shares 50 kilometers of its unfenced boundary line with neighbouring Kruger National Park. Animals pass casually between the two parks, unhindered and abundant.

 

Selati camp occupies 30500 hectares of charming, unfenced estate, stretched out between Mica, Gravelotte and Phalaborwa. Given access to by a series of colourfully named roads such as ‘thankerton cutline’ and ‘sunrise boulevard’, and subject to occasional night visits from some of the area’s curious inhabitants, Selati is an exciting and intriguing destination which will have you full of questions and starry eyed at the bold, natural beauty of the Sabi Sabi Game Reserve.

Accommodation at Selati is provided in eight luxury thatched suites, all complete with en-suite bathrooms, relaxing, scenic decks, private outdoor shower, ceiling fans and air conditioning, romantic oil lantern lighting, and access to a charming outdoor boma for al fresco meals.

Wildlife

Wildlife indigenous to the Sabi Sabi area includes Cape buffalo, elephant, Reedbuck, spotted hyena, cheetah, giraffe, Burchell’s zebra, Black-backed jackal, duiker, hippopotamus, impala, kudu, leopard, lion, warthog, white rhinoceros, white-tailed mongoose, and wild dog, as well as a bird watcher’s wildest dream in the surrounding park’s extensive bird population.

Children 13 years of age and  older are welcome at Sabi Sabi Selati Camp .
Providing there is the exclusivity of either lodge with family and / or friend’s children may be allowed and rates are available on request.

• Road transfers from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to Sabi Sabi can be arranged on request

• Sabi Sabi is a two-hour scenic drive from Nelspruit. Transfers from the airport can be arranged

• The Sabi Sand Wildtuin (SSW) has stated that, with immediate effect, the gate fees into the reserve will be R190 per vehicle (this applies to vehicles larger than 3.5 tons). There will be a further charge of R50 per person levied. (Prices subject to change)

• The entrance fee can only be confirmed at the time of making your reservation.
