Timbavati Game Reserve, 53 392 unfenced hectares of gorgeous nature reserve, is located to the north and west of the famous Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park, respectively. Decades old, this reserve is a much treasured getaway destination. With more than forty individual mammal species and over 360 bird species, and gorgeous facilities, guests are guaranteed all the relaxation and authentic bush adventure of the very best safari trip. With all the crystalline elegance of a perfectly preserved family heirloom, Kings Camp presents the attractiveness of Timbavati’s colonial past, with the comfort of first class accommodation, and the ever present, crackling excitement of the encompassing bushveld.

Guides at Kings Camp regularly take requests during trips to track down specific animals for guests, and after a hot afternoon out driving in the Timbavati, guests are greeted back at the lodge with drinks and smiles as they recount their adventures, before embarking on the evening drive.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Kings Camp takes the form of eleven colonial-style suites, equipped with air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms with ball-and-claw baths, indoor and outdoor double showers, mini-bars, and exclusive verandahs sporting incredible views of the area.

Wildlife

Timbavati Game Reserve is the proud home to the indigenous white lions which were reintegrated into the area in 2006. In addition,  there are extensive populations of all members of the Big Five, cheetah, wild dog, hyena, zebra, and giraffe, more than 120 listed species of reptile and fish, as well as the gigantic bird population, all of which are put at your fingertips by the resident guides during your stay here.

Children
We regret we do not allow children under the age of 6 unless the whole camp is booked.
Children aged from 6 and above are welcome at the Lodge. Children under 12 years pay 50% if they share a suite with 2 full paying guests; otherwise, the full adult rate applies.

Please Note:
The child sharing at 50% will be seated in the middle seat between the 2 adults on the game drive vehicles.

Self-dive instructions: 

From Johannesburg
Take the N4 to Witbank,Take the Belfast off ramp (R33/R540).Once in Belfast town, turn right into Voortrekker Street and continue straight to Dullstroom on R540,drive straight through Dullstroom town and continue to Lydenburg.Once in Lydenburg turn left into Potgieter Street and continue straight to Ohrighstad on the R36,drive straight through Ohrighstad and continue on R36 until it turns left to Tzaneen. DO NOT turn, but continue straight on R531 to Hoedspruit.In Hoedspruit, continue straight over the bridge crossing the train line to a four-way stop. At the stop turn right and continue towards Bosbokrand / Bushbuckridge along the R40,6/7km from Hoedspruit, note the Eastgate Airport sign on your left,at the sign, turn left to Kings Camp.Drive ±15km until you reach Timbavati Private Nature Reserve Control Gate,At the entrance gate, you will be required to pay an entrance fee of R120, 00 for the vehicle. (Fees subject to change).Continue on for ±18 km, until you see a Kings Camp sign to your left.Turn right at the sign. Follow signboards to the camp for an additional 2km.
