Kapama Karula Lodge – resting on the banks of the rushing Klaserie River, and comprised of a exclusive suites, is named “the place of peace”, owing to its riverine atmosphere and soothing accommodation. Facilities here are uniformly five star, luxurious, and blessed with exquisite views of the vistas that make this area famous. With fine dining, daily excursions out into the wild, and a range of entertainment options for days when relaxing around the Lodge wins out against the excitement of the bush.

As part of the greater Kruger area, vast herds of buffalo, elephant and antelope are resident on Kapama, along with plentiful predators. The reserve is a slice of wilderness paradise far from the madding crowd; a place of renewal and reconnection with the natural world.

Accommodation

Exclusive suites are equipped with luxury bathrooms, glass sliding doors that wrap around the suite for a unrestricted view of the Klaserie River. His and hers basins, indoor and outdoor showers, air conditioning, lounge and dining room, pooldeck and private pool, private bar, and tea and coffee making facilities.

There are two purpose-built superior suites for families. At 170m², these family suites have an open-plan living room, replete with fireplace, which flows into the master bedroom with its en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom leads off the living room and can be accessed through an interleading door or its own entrance. This children’s bedroom is also en-suite and is equipped with a flat-screen TV, selection of movies and a Wii game console. All other amenities are included – from well-stocked minibars including a selection of wines and champagne, to Nespresso coffee machines, air conditioning, overhead fans, telephones, Wi-Fi and an iPod docking station. Each family suite has a private outside deck and a large heated swimming pool for year-round swimming.

Wildlife

One of the biggest reserves in Limpopo, Kapama plays home to all members of the Big Five, lions, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, and buffalos safari heavy hitters, as well as leopards, wild dogs,  along with numerous other mammals, and more than 350 species of bird.

• Children of all ages are welcome and will be accommodated.
•  All children under the age of sixteen years must be accompanied by a responsible adult during game drives and bush walks
• Children under the age of 12 are permitted on safari at the sole discretion of the manager or guide​
• Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on safari.

Directions

Self-dive instructions:
Take either the N12 or the N4 from Johannesburg to Witbank and Middelburg.,turn onto the R540 towards Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg.
From Lydenburg proceed on the R36 to Orighstad, through the Strydom Tunnel to Hoedspruit,at Hoedspruit, take the R40 to Klaserie.For Kapama Reserve, continue on the R40 and turn left at the Eastgate Airport turn-off and continue for 15 km
Turn right at the Guernsey turn off and continue on the gravel road for another 10 km,the Kapama Reserve entrance will be on your left-hand side.

Please note: you will need to pay a gate entrance fee of R160 per vehicle and R40 per person. The entrance fee can only be confirmed at the time of making your reservation. (Prices are subject to change)
