Overview

Location: South Africa–>Kruger National Park–>Kapama Game Reserve
Accommodation Type: Lodge
Comfort Level: Luxury

Good For: Couple/Romantic, Solo, Family |

Camp Jabulani is a family-owned and managed private luxury safari lodge located within the private Kapama Game Reserve in Hoedspruit, South Africa (in close proximity to the Kruger National Park in the scenic Mpumalanga region).

With a Relais & Chateaux accreditation, this lodge is guaranteed to offer first class accommodation, cuisine, facilities and personalised service. But its most notable feature is the herd of trained African elephants, which were rescued by the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. Visitors can experience the extraordinary through personal interaction with these mammoth animals on daily elephant-back safaris, or while watching the elephants at play in the waterhole or casually browsing in their natural wild habitat near the stables.

This luxurious lodge has only six suites – never more than 12 guests, while the exclusive Zindoga Villa is ideally suited to the family traveller, or the client who prefers a more private, luxury experience.

Two individual suites are connected by a joint lounge and dining area. Each unit has a massive bedroom with bathroom en-suite (including glass enclosed shower), expansive wooden deck, and a private heated plunge pool. Wildlife

Camp Jabulani is based on Kapama, a Big 5 Game Reserve near to Kruger National Park. The lush vegetation and varied habitats of this balanced ecosystem means that it is able to support dense populations of wild animals, offering world class game viewing opportunities.

A true African safari experience, visitors will enjoy herds of antelope, giraffe and zebra grazing and congregating at the many waterholes, their senses alert to the threat of a hunting predator in the area.  Kapama has five separate prides of lions and we have frequent sightings of leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena as well as other smaller carnivores. Prepare to be humbled by the size and power of the elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros.

Twitchers will find their Mecca here, as more than 350 bird species have been recorded, including the endangered Ground hornbills,  Lappet-faced vultures and the rare African finfoot.

Kapama’s animals have learned not to feel threatened by our open sided vehicles, allowing for close-up photographic opportunities. We also strictly limit the number of guests on each Land Rover so that you have unobstructed views.

What makes Camp Jabulani a standalone destination is the fact that this experience of wild Africa may be enjoyed on foot, from the comfort of a safari vehicle or onelephant-back
