In the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a mere 10 minutes from Victoria Falls, you will find the Elephant Camp. With its elevated location, this exclusive and intimate camp offers breathtaking views across the unspoilt bushveld towards the yawning Batoka Gorge and the mists of the Falls.

Elephant Camp is a luxurious intimate lodge, secluded in its own private game reserve, yet central to the major attractions of the area. Majestic elephants frequently visit the camp and cavort in the nearby wallow giving the Camp its name. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with the huge animals with memorable elephant encounters and can learn about the conservation challenges facing them.

The lodge provides sumptuous comfort for those seeking close encounters with the wildlife, adrenalin-rush junkies, and those wanting rest and relaxation. With an emphasis on exclusivity and personalised service, Elephant Camp ensures a memorable and luxurious stay.

Accommodation

Elephant Camp offers accommodation in nine deluxe canvas tents, all with awe-inspiring views of the Batoka Gorge. Two of the suites are family tents, offering a sleeper couch to accommodate children.

The spacious tents are split in three sections, separated by large sliding doors. All the tents are beautifully decorated in a classic African-style, creating an authentic safari ambience. Each tent offers a large bathtub, an indoor and outdoor shower, and a separate comfortable lounge area.

From their secluded viewing deck and private plunge pool, guests may gaze out across the bush and down to the Batoka Gorge and the “smoke” rising up from the Victoria Falls.

Wildlife

Elephants are most definitely the centre of attention at Elephant Camp. The camp offers guests the opportunity to interact with the elephants at the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, which focuses on the care and maintenance of orphaned elephants. Resident wildlife is likely to wander through the lodge grounds at any time.

Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is home to the only rhinos in Zambia, zebra, giraffe, warthog and a variety of antelope species. A game drive along the Zambezi River promises pods of hippo wallowing in the shallows and crocodiles basking on the Zambezi River bank.

Over 600 species of birds are found in the region. Specialities include Bradfield’s and Trumpeter hornbills, Saddle-bill and Marabou storks, the African little sparrowhawk and the iconic African fish eagle, Verreauxs’ eagle, paradise flycatchers, and the lilac-breasted roller. Present, but rarely seen, are the Sooty and Taita falcons.

Children over the age of 7 years are most welcome at The Elephant Camp, the Camp boasts two family units, ideal for family getaways.
Children of all ages will be accepted when exclusive use of the camp has been booked.
