We took our time looking for the perfect spot to build Kuzuko, scouting many locations and even leaving weather stations out to find that perfect mix of views, sunrises, sunsets, and weather protection. The hilltop we chose was not an easy place to build but we think you’ll agree that it was worth the effort!

Overview

Kuzuko Lodge – A Canopy of a Million Stars. The Addo Elephant National Park lies hidden within the cavernous bushveld of the Eastern Cape

It is here where the evening’s silence is broken by the howl of the black-backed jackal and the francolins’ call heralds each new dawn. With uninterrupted views of the Karoo Plains and the Zuurberg Mountains, Kuzuko Lodge lies in a private concession to the north of the Addo Elephant National Park, the third largest national park in South Africa in a malaria-free region.

Children’s Program
Children of all ages are welcome at our place of glory. We cater for their every need from child friendly decks, special kiddies menu’s, camping cots and sleeper coaches for under 12’s to a special activities program under the watchful eyes of a dedicated game ranger. The jungle gym and play area is the perfect place to shed some excess energy in a healthy way. Babysitters are also available on request for your convenience

Accommodation

Guests are housed in 24 luxurious chalets, each with a private deck offering spectacular views of the malaria free Karoo bushveld of the big five park below. All chalets, three of which are wheelchair accessible, features an en-suite bathroom with bath and walk in shower, mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities, colour television, direct dialing telephones, wireless internet connectivity and data cable points.

Wildlife

This 15000 hectare private section of the greater Addo Elephant National Park is home to the Big five as well as Cheetah. Being part of the arid Karoo region and just coming out of a severe drought the herd sizes in this unique reserve may not compare to what can be found in the likes of the Kruger National Park. However you will go far and wide to find the quality of up close game viewing Kuzuko has to offer. Kudzuko’s qualified game rangers have a passion for this unique area and they go above and beyond to ensure that all guests leave having fallen in love with the Karoo and its unusual beauty.

Children 
Children aged 0-2 years will be accommodated free of charge on full board basis if sharing with one or two adults.
Children aged 3-6 years will be accommodated free of charge on a bed only basis when sharing with one or two adults and will be charged per child per day for all meals and two activities, if sharing with one or two adults.
Children aged 7-12 years will be accommodated free of charge on a room only basis and will be charged per child per day for all meals and two activities, if sharing with one or two adults.
Children aged 13-17 years will be accommodated free of charge on a room only basis and will be charged per child per day for all meals and two activities, if sharing with one or two adults.
Children occupying their own rooms will be charged the full adult rate.

Directions

Kuzuko Directions from Port Elizabeth

From the airport, take the N2 towards Grahamstown
Continue for approximately 60km the road forks, carry straight on, along the N10
do not take the turn off to the N2
Continue past the turn-off to Nanaga Farm Stall
After 21km continue past the town of Paterson and pass over the Olifantskop Mountain Pass
Continue for approximately 40km, past the Ann’s Villa turn-off
Turn left at an old shop – Oom Teuns se Winkel
Signage reads (R400) Jansenville / Riebeeckstad & Grahamstown
There is a Kuzuko sign in the mouth of the turn
Follow the R400 to Bracefield  – T-Junction.
Turn right as the Kuzuko sign directs – 23 km
Keep left as the road forks following the Kuzuko sign boards
Continue for approximately 10km till the sign board stating Kuzuko 11 km, turn left here
The road gets narrower now, after 11km you will come to the Kuzuko Reception building This is a Cape style white house used as an welcome & educational centre.
Proceed to park your car undercover. Our game rangers are waiting here to whisk you off to our 5 star lodge.
